This controversial picture above got Ghana talking , pictured above is one of Ghana's Best rappers and musician Sarkodie and the Flag-Bearer of the New Patriotic Party For the year 2016 Nana Addo-Dankwa Akuffo Addo. One could translate this gesture into so many meanings and I could be mistaking in my article I'm about to publish but this is what i think as a neutral person on the subject : Is Sarkodie Really Doing The right thing campaigning for the NPP coming this 2016 General election?
If YES, I think the so-called fastest rapper should brace himself really up for the task ahead with all the good and bad it entails. First, one thing he should consider is ; NOT all his fans and followers are really affiliated to the party he's currently attached to which obviously a 6 year old kid could guess it the New Patriotic Party. So if anything should go wrong in the 2016 elections this means Sarkodie could be loosing at least a percentage of his fans or followers who are not affiliated to the political party he might be campaigning for. And i don't think he's ready to bring an image he suffered to build through blood and tears just for the benefit of these "POLIKTRICIANS"
And also , this move might affect his relationship with Event Organizers who are not really into the party he's campaigning for now. And we all know he already got problems with prominent event houses in the country even way before he declared his affiliations which is Charter House.
This move might also affect his music career and popularity because he should take into consideration that , what if the NPP should loose in the general Elections in 2016? What will be the way forward for him and lost fans due to his political attachment. I think Sarkodie should take into consideration the case of Emmanuel Bonney popularly known in the industry as "Mr. Beautiful" after campaigning for Late President Atta Mills, he couldn't land himself any reasonable role in movies and literally he was living from "mouth-to-hand".
Sarkodie updated his Facebook fan page with same picture of the handshake with the caption : "WE WAITING 2016" , but I think his management team told him that was a dumb move so he took it down after the response from some furious and angry fans didn't go down quite well. Maybe he is doing this for the money since our neighboring brothers in Nigeria declared their support for parties such musicians are Davido , Don Jazzy and the likes.
These are just my opinion from a neutral point of him , and I hope no one takes it personal cause after all we entitled to Freedom of Speech and Democracy still works in Ghana the last time I checked.
